For the first time in 22 years, the UK will host WorldSkills – “the greatest skills competition, careers and jobs event on the planet“. WorldSkills takes place from the 5th- 8th October at ExCel London. Click here to find out more about WorldSkills.

Thanks to a special invitation from the Skills Funding Agency Rinova, WAC and Collage Arts will be at WorldSkills as part of the ‘Make it Happen’ Exhibition!

During the four days of WorldSkills International, students from WAC’s ARCO-Plus training course will be joining trainees from Collage Arts to showcase their skills in performing arts and media. Between the live performances, the trainees from WAC and Collage will be sharing their skills with other young people visiting the expo -including film and music editing techniques.

Celia Greenwood, WAC’s Chief Executive Officer says: “We have been given a fantastic opportunity to showcase our skills to the world.  For 32 years we have been committed to working with young people to help them gain skills to succeed in life and in many cases to work in the arts and entertainment sector.  WAC has some great alumni; Dappy, Miss Dynamite, Che Walker and Marianne Jean-Baptiste have all trained with us; and singer-songwriter and record producer Labrinth with Collage Arts.  We are proud of our association with them – but we are just as proud of the many thousands of students and apprentices that we have worked with successfully over the years.”

WAC and Collage Arts are currently offering 310 training opportunities – including performing arts and media apprenticeships through the Rinova consortium – for young people .

Young people interested in finding out more about the opportunities available at WAC and Collage should visit their websites at www.wac.co.uk and www.collage-arts.org .
