We are pleased to announce that, in partnership with Enterprise Enfield, we have been successful with Excel Enfield – a new project co-funded by the London Borough of Enfield and the European Social Fund through London Councils.
Excel Enfield is led by Enterprise Enfield, working together with partners Rinova, Barnet and Southgate College, Maze8, Gingerbread and Metropolitan Housing. From now until June 2015, the partnership will support at least 133 people who have been affected by the benefit cap and may not have worked for more than a year (for example those with care responsibilities). They will be matched with local employers’ vacancies, apprenticeships or places on further education courses. Excel Enfield joins Enterprise Enfield and Rinova’s ERA project, which was previously approved by London Councils in 2012.
Excel Enfield is part of the most recent suite of London Councils ESF projects, which have enabled seven boroughs to gain access to match funding from the European Social Fund for innovative projects to help unemployed people find work. These projects are aimed at making a difference for people who are not covered by mainstream employment initiatives including the Department for Work and Pensions’ Work Programme and Jobcentre Plus.
London Councils is committed to fighting for more resources for London and getting the best possible deal for London’s 33 councils. London Councils has a website about its grants service.
