Following on from their very successful collaboration on the East London Skills Support for the Unemployed project, Rinova and partner 15Billion have once again been successful in securing SFA funding for a large-scale project, focused on one of the most deprived boroughs in the capital.

Along with their own Sector Specific Careers Clusters project, Rinova played an instrumental role in designing and securing funding for the Newham Careers Cluster project – thus ensuring RInova lead or partner in 2 of a handful of Career Cluster projects currently being launched across the capital. Over the next 18 months Rinova will play a key role in the delivery and management of the Newham Careers Cluster as the sole partner to project lead 15B.

The Newham Careers Cluster aims to bring schools and employers together to improve the relevance of career guidace in secondary schools across the borough. The project capitalises on 15Bs existing links with local schools and builds on their exceptional reputation for delivering quality CEIAG, whilst also utilising their extensive employer networks. The partners will bring together employers and schools to develop a series of innovative, exciting interventions which will open up the world of work to young people across the borough – giving them first hand experience of real work situations and bringing them into direct contact with employers. In addition the project will focus on providing opportunities for teachers and educators to also get a better understanding of a wide range of career pathways, so that they feel more able to guide and advise their pupils at key transition points in their learning journey.

Speaking about the Newham Careers Cluster project, Rinova Director, Amanda Francis said ‘This is a tried and tested partnership and we are delighted to be working once again with 15B on a major initiative. Effective partnership working is what Rinova is all about and we are always delighted when we get the opportunity to work collaboratively in small or large-scale partnerships. Careers Clusters is a very different model to anything that has been released by the SFA in recent years and we know that it will be challenging. With many years of delivery and successful project management behind us, we see this as an opportunity to create something really different and exciting and we look forward to creating a unique project, which will result in lasting relationships between educators and employers.’
