Rinova, WAC and Collage Arts at WorldSkills International 2012
Several hundred young people visited the Exhibition Stand hosted
by consortium members WAC and Collage Arts at WorldSkills
International at the ExCel in London last month. They came to
learn more about the vocational courses, career support and
Apprenticeships being offered by partners.
WorldSkills is billed as "the greatest skills competition,
careers and jobs event on the planet" and was taking place in the
UK for the first time in 22 years. Rinova, WAC and Collage Arts
exhibited at WorldSkills as part of the 'Make it Happen'
Exhibition. During the four days of WorldSkills International,
students from WAC's ARCO-Plus training course joined trainees from
Collage Arts to showcase their skills in performing arts and media.
Between the live performances, the trainees from WAC and Collage
shared their skills with other young people visiting the expo -
including film and music editing techniques.
The partners also took the opportunity to showcase and
disseminate some of the products and lessons from the European
Union Leonardo da Vinci project 'Aspire' and a project that
has developed a new approach to developing Transferable Skills in
learners through arts practice, funded by the Learning and Skills
Improvement Service.
