On Wednesday 26th June Rinova will be hosting a half-day seminar for all those who are interested in the European dimension of Lifelong Learning.

In particular, over the last 18 months, Rinova has participated as a partner in the Leonardo da Vinci project CERF, connected to the the European Reference Framework of Key Competences for Lifelong Learning.

Known as the ERF, this Framework defines eight ‘key competences’ that European citizens require for their personal fulfilment, social inclusion, active citizenship and employability in a changing, knowledge-based society.

Working with partners from Greece, Spain, Sweden and Cyprus as well as the UK the project, CERF – (Certification Standard for European Reference Framework Key Competences) has been developing a number of approaches through which the ERF can be promoted, and in some cases certificated, by training and learning.

The latest news from CERF can be found in the partnership’s third newsletter, which can be viewed here.

Rinova’s specific role has been to develop a trainer guide and learning curriculum for the ERF Key Competence ‘Cultural Awareness and Expression’.

Richard Parkes of Rinova said “The new EU Programme ‘Erasmus for All’, which will replace the current Lifelong Learning Programme from 2014, is still under development.

However, with more money than ever before to boost the European dimension in learning, it looks as if having a good understanding of European policies and measures such as the ERF, the EQF (European Qualifications Framework) and ECVET will be virtual pre-requisites for any new project applications.”

To raise awareness about the ERF and the work that Rinova has been doing on CERF, we are hosting a free seminar at WAC Arts, Hampstead Town Hall from 9.00am – 1.00pm on Wednesday 26th June.

Places are limited, so if you are interested in attending please contact Imogen Slater at Rinova on i.slater@rinova.co.uk
